His first stream on Twitch was July 27, 2017. What started as a way to connect with other players and share gaming quickly turned into something much bigger. Now, he is passionately pursuing a full-time streamer and entertainer career! Before Twitch he built a software development company that has lasted over fifteen years.

Resurrection Fern is a singer-songwriter, Twitch partner, mom, and T1D. She has been involved with JDRF Game2Give since the very first fundraiser in 2019 and was a founding member of the Ready Type 1 stream team. Her community, the “Fern Fam,” has made incredible strides in raising T1D awareness and raising funds for JDRF as we fight for a world without type 1 diabetes. Fern has even written two songs, “Hope” and “Warrior,” in honor of her relationship with JDRF and her battle with chronic illness.

Nukkuler was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when she was eight years old. When in the hospital, she found comfort in her very own Rufus, provided by JDRF! JDRF helped Nukkuler and her family transition to life with T1D. Growing up, she participated in the JDRF One Walk to help give back.

Now, as a full-time streamer on Twitch, she continues to give back with JDRF Game2Give! Her main stream content includes speedrunning retro games like Zelda: Ocarina of Time, with a heavy focus on her community. She loves using Crowd Control, an extension that allows viewers to affect the game with donations, to help with charity efforts. She regularly works with other gaming charity events including Games Done Quick, Zeldathon, and Speedrun Colosseum.

VirtuallyMarti is a family- and brand-friendly content creator with a focus on Pokémon / Nintendo gaming. She was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes as an adult in June 2011. The same year, she started writing articles, filming videos, and streaming, and today she’s blessed with a small audience. She likes to use her platform to spread awareness and educate about the challenges people who live with type 1 diabetes face.

Krillin has had type 1 diabetes for over 20 years. He got involved with the JDRF early on by participating in countless One Walks along the Charles River in Boston and continued that passion by working at Camp Joslin for countless summers. Type 1 diabetes has always been an essential part of who he is—but while it’s helped him become who he is, he’s equally determined to get rid of it!

Krillin has been streaming on Twitch since October 2017. He’d raised money for a few T1D charities before learning about JDRF’s new gaming initiative and becoming one of the founding members of the JDRF Game2Give community in 2019. Since then, he’s met countless incredible people through JDRF Game2Give—including the beautiful lady he’s currently dating!

JDRF and their good friend Rufus have always been part of Krillin’s life, and he looks forward to continuing that work until we eventually find a cure.

Rogue Liliana is a cat-girl necromancer Vtuber who has devoted her ninth and final life to making others happy through content creation. She was diagnosed with T1D when she was ten, so she’s has seen decades’ worth of change in the T1D space.

Rogue shares her hard story about her T1D journey with her community regularly with the hope of helping others connected to the disease. She has been fundraising for the JDRF since 2018 and is proudly one of their Ambassadors and a community moderator.

8BitVal has been a type 1 diabetic for more than 15 years, being diagnosed a bit later in life. She is currently on a Medtronic pump and CGM treatment, which she absolutely adores. Val streams art on Twitch, does storytimes and tutorials on YouTube, and is an all-time goofball. A firm believer that positive thinking brings positive outcomes, she tries her best to teach her son the same and bring positive vibes and a ton of (good) chaos to her streams.

The Ready Type 1 stream team has helped Val connect with other type 1 diabetics, something that had not been possible for her until then. She has met so many amazing, strong people and families affected by T1D and is proud to be able to raise funds every now and then for this very cause. She hopes to be able to do much more in the future, too!

GhostlyTuna (aka Tuna or Scott) has had type 1 diabetes for over three decades. Going from mixing insulin in syringes to now having implants that help manage the condition, he has seen firsthand how research has improved the lives of people with diabetes around the world.

Being able to raise money for causes close to his pancreas through video games and livestreaming has been a highlight of his career, and he's determined to help even more in the future.

GhostlyTuna also makes tools and resources for livestreamers to upgrade their streams, with integrations to charity platforms like Tiltify allowing them to level up and automate more of their streams' charity efforts.

Alex lives in Ontario, Canada, and has had type 1 diabetes since June 2010. He streams on Twitch as Relaxander666 (puns are definitely his thing). The focus of his content is music performance, where he usually performs song requests for viewers on bass and guitar, using Rocksmith 2014. Metal is his favourite genre to play by far, but he also handles rock and funk styles with confidence.

Alex started using his growing stream community to help fundraise for JDRF in 2020. This has been a meaningful experience, allowing him to turn his diagnosis into a positive. Since then, diabetes advocacy has been a central part of his content and persona online, and he encourages chatters to ask questions about his experience. He also has a live blood sugar readout on his stream, a fairly unique feature on Twitch that provides extra visibility to the live, moment-to-moment dealings with this disease.

Gaming4Diabetes (known as Tony in real life) was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes on January 6, 2006. He started his livestreaming journey back in April 2013 to help spread awareness to people who didn't understand what diabetes can do and how it can affect people with T1D. He also gave support to other diabetics who needed support, or just someone who understands. As his channel grew bigger and bigger, his community became like a family over time.

Over the years, he has struggled with mental and physical health issues and has started a new journey in life, but he still tries to stream when he can. You can catch him online if you ever need that support, because he will always be Gaming4Diabetes and will always game.

Bromid, known better as dimo, is one of the top dance gamers in the world! He started playing in 2000 at thirteen and was later diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in 2005. MultitapMugen is a variety streamer who tends to favor local multiplayer, retro, and audience-interaction games, but enjoys all kinds of different gaming experiences. The stream features three hosts, MultitapMugen (himself), MultitapKayla (his wife), and MultitapStart (his brother).

MultitapMugen was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in July 2014 as a young adult. It was a huge life adjustment and can definitely be a struggle from day to day, but he's grateful that he can share his experience through streaming and help educate people about T1D.

Kt is a professional graphic designer and artist, by both profession and hobby. She was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the young age of 11, so she was forced to learn to readjust her lifestyle to meet the demands of her new one. Diabetes runs in the family, with both her mom and one of her older sisters also having T1D. Some of her favorite devices to manage her diabetes include her Omnipod insulin pump and her Dexcom; both operate wirelessly and make her lifestyle so much simpler in the long run.

Patrice (who goes by Nym on stream) was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at one year old and has been rocking the T1D lifestyle ever since! She grew up with insulin injections until she was fourteen, and then switched to a pump. At age 33 she got off of the pump and now uses Humalog & Novolog insulin pens.

Nym loves to play games and travel. She has a loving and supportive fiancé named Jon, and two cats named Zeus and Tiger. She plays a variety of games and is currently obsessed with Fortnite. She loves Animal Crossing, Legend of Zelda, and games that make her laugh.

She has a double BA in American Sign Language and sign language interpreting, a Deaf fiancé, and a MA in sign language interpreting. TheKoolEagle has been a type 1 diabetes advocate since 2019. He has a friend who has had T1D since they were in high school together, but other than helping him a few times with lows, TheKoolEagle didn't really see the big picture of T1D. That changed when his son was diagnosed at just 15 months old and their family was dropped into a world of stress and micromanagement to keep him healthy and alive. These days TheKoolEagle is committed to doing whatever he can to help ease the symptoms of T1D or outright cure it.

Thad Wade (aka Bearded Legend) resides in Mississippi. He was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes on February 1, 2018 at 31 years old. While it has been a journey, he remains positive about the situation. He enjoys content creation and other activities such as hunting, fishing, and being with friends and family.

Andrew Hair (aka TheSolidHair) has been playing video games since he was four years old, when his parents first bought him a NES. His dad would take him to Blockbuster every Friday after school to rent a video game and he'd spend all weekend trying to beat it.

During his senior year of college, while working as a video game developer, he was diagnosed with type 1. He had always taken care of himself, had a healthy diet, and was physically fit, so the diagnosis came as a shock to everyone. His mom cried, he got angry, and other people couldn't believe he'd been diagnosed with diabetes.

After his diagnosis, he had the idea to combine his passion for video games with his disease to try and raise money for charity. With the help of friends and family, fellow game developers, and JDRF, he's been able to raise money by streaming for charity each and every year. Video games may have turned from a hobby into a career, but now he's passionate about raising money for an organization whose mission is to prevent and cure diabetes as well as to improve the lives of all people affected by this disease.

She has lobbied at the New York capital, participated for years in the walks, been a youth ambassador at multiple galas, been a camp counselor, and advocated in various other ways in her local community. She has been participating in the JDRF Game2Give events since 2020. Dark Insanities is a streamer in the UK. He’s had type 1 diabetes since he was fourteen, and spent a lot of the next thirteen years in hospital with diabetic emergencies. Since then, he’s been keeping himself out of hospital with help from technology and friends. He currently uses a Dexcom G6 to track his sugar levels to his phone. He doesn’t have an insulin pump yet, but hopefully that will change soon. On stream, you’ll sometimes hear his phone yelling at him for being high. Don’t panic, it’s all under control (probably).

Dark Insanities primarily streams space games, because space is cool. You’ll also find him playing platformers such as Hollow Knight & Celeste, or roguelites like Hades. As well as all that, he runs a biweekly D&D game and has a personal blog. EnbyEiri, a non-binary bean of weirdness from the UK, has had diabetes since they were two and a half. There was a lot they did not know about T1D until they became an adult, and it has been their mission to raise awareness for T1D so others understand and also feel supported. They used this lack of knowledge about T1D in their university degree, for which they created cool superhero-themed materials to explain T1D to kids—and from there, that was how they found JDRF! Sam (aka Obiwanshinoobie) started streaming on Twitch in 2011 and was diagnosed with T1D about three months later. In 2014 he started working in the game industry and quickly helped shape what charity fundraising on Twitch has now become. He currently works as an Influencer Manager for Sandbox Strategies, one of the top influencer and public relations agencies in the world for gaming.

Calebrated Gamer (aka Caleb) loves streaming on Twitch and posting videos on YouTube. His favorites are play adventure and horror games, but nothing is off the table!

Caleb does not have diabetes personally, but his best friend of eighteen years, Blac, did. They grew up together, effectively as brothers, even rooming together for a few years during college. Due to illness and an insulin pump failure, Blac fell into a diabetic coma in 2017 and passed away. Since then, Caleb has raised money in JDRF One Walks and their amazing JDRF Game2Give program. He can’t thank everyone enough for supporting such a wonderful cause. While Caleb will always miss Blac, he hopes that, someday, no one else will have to go through that loss.

Aerodynamac is a PhD chemist currently living in Northern New Mexico. She still remembers coming home from a Girl Scout camping trip when she was seven, and finding out her younger brother had been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. Since that day, she threw herself into understanding what T1D is, along with raising money through 5k races and fundraisers for the cause. Her dad, who was diagnosed with T1D when he was eight years old, later lost both his legs due to complications of diabetes. Kyllfie (also known as Kyle) has been streaming as a PNGTuber on Twitch since 2022. She's grown a nice, supportive community over that time and can't wait to grow it even more! She streams video games, mostly spooky/horror games like Dead by Daylight and Hunt: Showdown. She loves flowers and butterflies and her cat, who accompanies her during her streams.

Having type 1 diabetes has never been something Kyllfie has hid from her community, and she actively uses "type 1 diabetes" as a tag in her streams to connect with diabetic viewers. Nerd901Adam’s son was diagnosed with T1D in 2018, four days before his second birthday. When he turned six, Adam and his wife started getting him more involved with his own care. Adam credits advances in T1D tech and care for making his son’s life much easier and less stressful. He supports JDRF and diabetes research in the hopes that one day he won’t need his devices.

Adam streams a variety of games ranging from Fortnite to Ultimate Chicken Horse to Elden Ring. He got into streaming to fundraise for wonderful causes, and he’ll continue doing his part!

GeeksVsGeeks (aka Rob) has several T1D connections in his family, most notably with his youngest child, who was diagnosed a few weeks before his third birthday. T1D had skipped a generation, but unfortunately it did not stay at bay. Ever since, the family has been learning as well as teaching others about type 1. They participated in many JDRF One Walks, school presentations, work events, and fundraisers before getting the opportunity to join JDRF’s stream team on Twitch to continue this fight together.

GeeksVsGeeks was started as a family project many years ago to share geeky things with each other and other families, and it grew to eventually include a Twitch channel. Now, with all the kids heading out to college and beyond, the content has evolved but the family roots are always present. Elliot was diagnosed at eighteen after he was hospitalized with diabetic ketoacidosis. Before that, his father been diagnosed with diabetes as well, which turned out to also be type 1.

Since his diagnosis, Elliot has been learning constantly about both himself and T1D. He started streaming for the annual JDRF Game2Give fundraisers in 2020, and since then has made many friends along with learning more about Diabetes and how to manage it. He looks forward to doing many more streams and spreading awareness about T1D and the progress being made in research.

Julian (aka redwrld999, redwrld.edits, or Red) is a cartoon editor with type 1 diabetes. Living with type 1 has been a hard struggle in life due to 24/7 finger pricks and insulin injections. Although now technology such as a Dexcom CGM and Tandem pump have made managing type 1 easier, Red still has high hopes that a cure will come through someday soon.

Crocheting is a huge part of Mel's life. Her favorite item to crochet is Amigurumi. She also teaches crochet at a local community center that helps victims of crime. Crocheting has helped her get through the hardest moments in her life and she hopes that one day she can expand to partner with other nonprofit programs and teach crochet as a way to help people cope with and process trauma.

TeeOneDee (aka Josh) was diagnosed with T1D at the age of eleven. It was a tough time for him mentally, as he was starting a new school at the same time. Charities like JDRF have been a huge help to him during his life, not just for the physical, but for the mental health side too.

He started his Twitch channel as a way to raise money and support diabetes-related charities, starting with a twenty-four-hour stream that he did through his Xbox with nothing but a headset microphone. He plays all kinds of games on stream, sometimes alone and sometimes with others. He's also branched out into raising money for all kinds of charities, just to give something back.

Video games bring so many people together for so many different reasons. For DJ (aka Patch Notes or Patch), it is the thread that ties multiple stories into one. Gaming has been his primary outlet for speaking on and advocating for people who live with type 1 diabetes, just like he does. When he isn't gaming, you will find Patch filming, directing, and editing videos for clients all over the world, including JDRF Game2Give.

Twak was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in 2005, at seven years old. Because he's had diabetes for the majority of his life, it's now second nature. Every day he does things like calculate insulin, inject himself, draw blood, and monitor blood sugars. He's always mindful of small changes in how he feels, in case he gets low or high, and has to limit what physical activity he can do in order to not let his blood sugar plummet.

Of course, living with T1D has gotten easier over time. The advancements in diabetes care and technology that JDRF helps boost have made Twak's life less painful, stressful, and complicated. That's why he's spent many hours volunteering and raising money for JDRF events, including the JDRF Game2Give streaming fundraisers.

AverageSiege's family has been heavily affected by type 1 diabetes. His father passed away in March 2016 from complications of T1D, and he has multiple other family members who are living with the disease. He's grateful that he's able to use his platform to spread awareness, while also raising as much money as possible to help fight it.

Devious Ditto (aka Jake) has had type 1 diabetes since 2014, when he was diagnosed over the summer of his final year of college. He was hospitalized with his blood sugar reaching 38 mmol/L and stayed there for five days to get it back down to a healthy level. When he left the hospital, his life was changed forever. Over the years he has learned so much and met many people who have experienced or know of someone who has this disease, and now, being a Ready Type 1 Ambassador for JDRF, he has the chance to spread the word about T1D and help as much as he can.

Jonathan Ellson was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of twelve, but has never let it stop him from doing anything he wishes. As he was told on diagnosis, 'You are in control of it, not the other way round,' and he has lived by that ever since. T1D causes problems, but nothing is insurmountable.

Jonathan is a professional musician specializing in composition and musical direction for both choral and theatrical groups in his local area. He uses his stream to explore and educate viewers on the inner workings of how new music can be created, with the occasional game thrown in for variety.

TimeTravellingProtoype (aka William Smith) runs a couple of Twitch channels, one of which is primarily focused on nostalgic TV and commercial programming, and another focused on the study of many different martial arts and self-defense techniques. His partner has been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes since 2019, and he also has close friends and family with type 2, so the cause of raising money for research into diabetes and medications to assist those suffering with it is close to him. William has Crohn's disease and has a great deal of sympathy for the challenges that disabilities, especially those which present as invisible illness, can cause people.

Outside of streaming, he spends a lot of time practicing martial arts, taking care of his four cats (Smudge, Lotus, Tinsel and Luna), and playing video games. He has been raising money for charities on Twitch since 2018 and was generally inspired by GamesDoneQuick. He hopes the Ready Type 1 Ambassadors can all work together to raise funding for research that can change the lives of those he knows who are dealing with diabetes, and he's grateful that JDRF provides an outlet to do that fundraising.

Cush (aka Owen) was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at ten years old and hasn't looked back since. He enjoys streaming RPGs and getting immersed in different environments. Outside of streaming, you can find him at a concert, in the gym, or exploring the wilderness.

Mathew (yes, he spells his name with one "t") loves all things tech and Disney. He was born with one kidney and was diagnosed with T1D at age eleven. When he was first diagnosed, he had a lot of trouble finding the right combo of insulin. He, his mom, and his doctors tried so many combinations to help get his blood sugar levels under control. He finally found the magic combination and got his A1C to where it needed to be, then moved from shots to a insulin pump, and he hasn't looked back since. He now uses a Dexcom CGM as well.

Lewabetes has had Type 1 since November of 2008, and his connection with JDRF started on day 1 in the hospital with Rufus the bear. He did a few walks throughout the years, and more recently the JDRF Ride to Cure 100-mile bike rides.

After playing college soccer and racing collegiate cycling, Lewabetes joined the Team Novo Nordisk Elite cycling team in 2017. He was a collegiate esports coach for over 3.5 years and owns a small esports org that competes in Apex Legends and hosts tournaments throughout the year, including for JDRF Game2Give.

Ariel is a Twitch Affiliate, Ubisoft Partner, member of Team Centerstage, and type 1 diabetic. You will most likely find her groovin’ with her community to Just Dance, playing story-driven games like The Last of Us, or fartin’ around on management simulators such as The Sims. She loves to hang out with her community and it’s been a highlight of her time on Twitch to share her experience as a diabetic and fundraise for the causes she is passionate about. Outside of streaming, Ariel enjoys traveling, hiking, reading, and spending time with her friends/family. She has a dog named Rory and a cat named Spud who often like to make an appearance on her stream. She has a background in education, film, theater, and costume design -- she loves nothing more than an excuse to get dressed up and have a good time. Erica has had type 1 diabetes since October 1999. Her younger brother and grandfather also live with T1D and all wear insulin pumps, so when something beeps at a family gathering it's a fun time figuring out whose device is the culprit. Currently Erica is using an Omnipod Dash & Dexcom G6 combo and running it together with DIY Loop.

Erica is originally from New York but is currently living in Germany, where she moved to get access to more affordable healthcare. She's been streaming on Twitch on and off since March 2020, playing mostly strategy games and TRPGs, and is really excited to further support JDRF as Ready Type 1 Ambassador.
